He is El Elyon, our Sovereign King;

Triumphant ruler, o'er ev'rything.

Jehovah Tsidkenu, my Righteous Lamb;

He is Yahweh, the Great I AM.

My God Jehovah, Himself reveals;

Jehovah Rapha, our God who heals.

He is my Elohim, the God of power;

He is eternal, present at this hour.

-Bridge-

You are holy; You are just;

In Your name I put all my trust.

Ever faithful, ever true;

With my song I worship You.

He is Adonai, my Lord abides;

Jehovah Jireh, my God provides.

He is my Shepherd, I'm never alone;

Jehovah Rohi cares for His own.

-Bridge-

All sufficient for my need,

Lord of all, my Master indeed.

I will seek You all my days,

Lord, You're worthy of all praise.

Jehovah Shalom, my God, my peace;

He is El Shaddai, our God Almighty;

He is my El Roi, the God who sees me;

Jehovah Sabaoth, my victory!

Our help is in the name of the Lord.

    After studying the names of God in our church's women's Bible study, I felt impressed to write a song that would help us all remember those names and their meanings, as that is how God reveals to us who He is. The title "He Is" not only introduces each name, but also reminds us that He is "present tense," ever present with us and omnipresent—present all the time everywhere. When He revealed Himself to Moses in Exodus 3, He called Himself Yahweh, which means "I am the One who is."

    He is the etermal, self-existent One, the only God who ever was and ever will be. May you come to know God and who "He Is" as you listen to this song. Psalm 124:8 Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Exodus 3:14
